Many cities and towns on the East Coast or other parts of the country have a suggested set of hours that trick or treating can take place. Arizona cities and towns don't seem to follow this pattern.
Typically, Trick or Treaters hit the streets right before dusk and into the evening. Most younger children are done earlier, while older groups of kids may stay out until 9 p.m. or so.
Halloween this year falls on Monday, Oct. 31. Some are wondering if kids will go door-to-door on Saturday or Sunday. The realistic answer is probably not. Most children will collect candy and other goodies on Monday evening starting at dusk. Local authorities ask parents and guardians to escort their children, and they suggest that older kids go out together in groups to stay safe.
Additionally, Fountain Hills will celebrate this holiday on Avenue of the Fountains on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Businesses will hand out goodies and have entertainment. The event is open to children and their caregivers along with pet owners and their animals. All are welcome to wear costumes. Details: www.halloweeninthehills.com.
