The lineup has been announced for the 5th Annual Jazz Series at the Scottsdale Promenade.  This spring musical series, sponsored each year by the Miracle Mile Deli , features jazz music Friday nights in April, May and June. 

Jazz at the Promenade will feature some of the Valley's Most Popular Artists as well as Wine Tastings from the Uncorked wine bistro and Promenade Restaurant Specialty Foods.  Each week, Jazz on the Promenade will be hosted  by KYOT Radio personality Melissa Sharpe.   There will also be prizes from Promenade merchant raffled at the end of each concert.

The 2011 Line up of Performers for the 5th Annual Jazz on the Promenade Series are:

• Friday, April 29:   Cold Shott & The Hurricane Horns - This local band has developed a reputation for being one of Arizona's most consistant and entertaining musical acts. Merging classic and contemporary blues with big band, rhythm and blues and soul music, their horn driven sound will blow you away!

• Friday, May 6:  The DelRayz -Although The DelRayz are new to the Valley musical scene, their classic blues chops aren't!  Vocalist and harmonica player Rochelle Raya is a member of the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame after all!  With backing from guitarist James Robertson, bass player and vocalist Scott Alamprese, and drummer Dale Loyola, The DelRayz will get your feet moving!

• Friday, May 13:   The Groove Merchants - Get your groove on with one of the area's most popular musical groups!  The Groove Merchants are known for their high-energy shows that leave their audiences dancing in the aisles!  Expect to hear anything from soft dinner jazz to rock and roll dance music from the Groove Merchants

• Friday, May 20:   Nicole Pesce & special guest Jeff Hattrick - Pianist Nicole Pesce was recently named one of the "top ten musicians in Phoenix," by the Arizona Republic!  Her repertoire is impressive with over 12,000 memorized songs ranging from Chopin to Lady Gaga. Don't miss this incredible performer and her special guest Jeff Hattrick at the Promenade on May 20th.

• Friday, May 27: Turning Point - This is your chance to see what everyone in the Valley has been talking about!  Turning Point plays a blend of progressive jazz liberally infused with rock, R&B and blues, Latin Jazz and even some Greek influences.   This is one show not to be missed!

• Friday, June 3:  Dennis Rowland - Dennis Rowland brings Motor City Soul to the Valley!  Rowland's is best known for his association with the Count Basie Orchestra.  His music brings inevitable comparisons to Motown greats Lou Rawls and Joe Williams. Now living in the valley, he has had a successful career as an  actor on stage and in films as well as finding success as a solo singer on the Concord label. Mr. Rowland is appearing to support his third Concord CD - Now Dig This - a tribute to  Miles Davis.
